It's hard to escape the grasp of Alzheimer's disease--one in eight older Americans has the disease, and fifteen million more Americans provide unpaid care for a loved one with Alzheimer's.

Please join Chicago Council on Science and Technology and Children's Hopstial of Chicago Research Center for Alzheimer's and Aging: Our Fragile Minds, an evening program featuring New York Times Best-Selling Author of Still Alice, Lisa Genova, as well as featured panelist Marsel Mesulam, MD., Director of the Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center at Northwestern University and panelist Monica Moreno, Director of early-stage initiatives for the Alzheimer's Association National Organization.

Keynote speaker Lisa Genova will highlight the effects of Alzheimer’s on the patient and their family, as well as the changes that take place inside the brain. Featured panelist Dr. Mesulam will discuss the latest scientific and research advances, prognosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s. Monica Moreno will address questions regarding care, training and education for patient caregivers. The program will be moderated by Julie Schneider, MD, Associate Professor of Neurology and Neuropathology at Rush Medical Center.

The presentation will be followed by a 30-minute book signing reception.
