Arie Friedman’s Shadow PAC

DEERFIELD, IL – Maximum contributors to Republican state Senate candidate, Dr. Arie Friedman, are beginning to shuffle money into a Friedman allied PAC to circumvent campaign contribution limits.  Democratic candidate for state Senate, Julie Morrison, is calling on Friedman to close his Doctors-Patients Alliance PAC.

"Voters Of the 29th District deserve better than this type of closed door, dishonest politics" Morrison said.

In a July, 2011 web posting, Dr. Friedman suggested that the PAC could be used to bolster his campaign.  According to Dr. Friedman, “As an Illinois state political committee, DPAI will directly support state legislative candidates – maybe even me…”

According to the State Board of Elections, The Doctors-Patients Alliance PAC was opened in May 2011 and listed Dr. Friedman as its chairman.  In January, the PAC amended its filing to list Friedman campaign manager, Paul Miller, as its chairman. There are, however, discrepancies in the PAC's alleged leadership. The political filings of the Doctors-Patients Alliance PAC state that Miller is their chairman while the PAC's website states that Friedman is the organization's chairman.

In just a few days following the "switch", the Doctors-Patients Alliance PAC received maximum contributions from major Friedman supporters, including the self described “First and Oldest member of the Tea Party” Jack Roeser’s Otto Engineering.

“Arie Friedman is relying on Blagojevich-style politics to get elected,” Morrison's campaign manager Bill Doerrer said.  “It is a shame that Dr. Friedman is attempting to engage in the same dishonest politics that have corrupted our state.  Dr. Friedman should stop trying to funnel money into his campaign, do what is right, and order his campaign manager to shut down his shadow PAC.”

Other than crying a river of tears, Ms. Morrison's campaign forgets that this is completely legal.

Democrats who in this state have received far more donations than Republicans now complain that the playing field has been leveled concerning donations.

Ms. Morrison has no complaints about receiving donations and supporting mailings from the far left wing Personal PAC which deliberately distorts Friedman's stances and positions. The hypocrisy of her conflicting positions speaks volumes about her campaign.

I like that Dr. Friedman has run a clean campaign, while Morrison continues to peddle fear and lies without proposing any real solutions to the problems at hand. Friedman has my vote.
