Women Entrepreneurs: Three Twelve Tudor Opens in Glencoe

Downtown Glencoe gets Madden Home for the household and Three Twelve Tudor for women.

Three Twelve Tudor, owned by Cheri Tracy and Amy Bishop, is one of two new stores in Glencoe this summer. The other, , is across from the Starbucks coffee shop at 347 Park Ave.

Three Twelve Tudor is a boutique that sells clothing from the Sugar Lips brand as well as scarves, Indian tunics and individualized printed T-shirts from the Minnesota clothing company, Before+Again.

“The T-shirts were a big risk because they're $60,” Tracy said. “But we sell out of these. We're still trying to get our feet wet and determine what lines sell.”

Bishop, who works at An Apple a Day Catering in Glencoe, had also helped launch the Bella Gypsy venture in Glencoe last fall. But she split with her business partners at Bella, and they have since relocated to Hubbard Woods in Winnetka. Her new business is just down the street from the former venture, whose space is now an empty storefront.

In addition to clothing, Tracy and Bishop sell antique clothing accessories at Three Twelve Tudor from the 1920s through the 1940s that are marketed by Glencoe sellers Tyler MacKenzie and Rachel Olester.

Tracy also has her own line of organic cosmetics, Orglamix. It is not sold at the store.*

“I see cute stuff, reasonably priced, and I have teenage daughters who will go crazy over it,” said Kelly Joyce, a customer from Winnetka. “I'm buying a tank top and necklace so far.”

Before Joyce left, she picked up a gray summer dress as well.

*Oct. 7 Correction: The story reported that Orglamix eye shadow was sold at the store.
