Winnetka Police Probe Inappropriate Emails, Texts Involving New Trier Students

New Trier Township High School District 203 Superintendent Linda Yonke hopes families use this incident to reinforce internet safety.

Winnetka police are in the preliminary stages of investigating inappropriate text and emails involving New Trier High School students, according to a press release.

Winnetka Police Department is working with New Trier High School and the news release contained little detail regarding the incident.

“The police department really has no further comment regarding that as it is a current and fluidly evolving investigation,” Winnetka Deputy Police Chief Joe Pellus said. “If at some point in the near future some things break out, we may have additional information, but at this time we don’t have any.”

It is unclear how many students are involved in the investigation but Chicago Tribune reported the students sent inappropriate photos to other students last week.

District 203 Superintendent Linda Yonke sent a letter to parents Friday, according to Wilmette Life, and was quoted saying that the parents of students involved have all been contacted regarding the incident.

“We hope families can use this opportunity to reinforce our internet safety messages and to discuss the consequences and permanency of actions involving the internet, social media, texting or other forms of electronic communication,” Yonke was quoted as saying in the letter according to Wilmette Life.

Rumor is police will accuse the boys of circulating porn, but not charge the girls with creating and circulating porn.

Welcome to the world where internet porn girls Paris Hilton and Kim Kardasian were launched into fame and money for exploiting their exploitables.

i'm happy to see the police pursuing this.

too many parents give their kids smart phones, etc. at too young of an age and don't educate them on proper conduct, or the fact that things they say or post online will follow them forever.
