Winnetka Residential Burglar Remains at Large
A heavy police presence was reported near the 1300 block of Sunview Lane Thursday as Winnetka law enforcement searched the area and parents were picking up their children from school.
A suspect or suspects remain at-large after Winntka police reponded to a residential burglary 9-1-1 call from the 1300 block of Sunview Lane just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Commander Mark Hornstein.
A heavy police presence was reported by numerous Patch readers on Thursday afternoon, many of whom were picking up their children from neighboring schools.
Winnetka police set up a perimeter in the area and searched for suspects until after 2 p.m., according to Commander Hornstein.
Schools in the area include Hubbard Woods Elementary, Skokie School and Washburn Jr. High.
