Winnetka Police Blotter: Criminal Defacement on the Rise

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

March 11

Theft - A victim reportedly discovered jewelry missing from her residence on the 100 block of Fuller Lane. This occurred sometime between Feb. 22 and March 11.  

March 20

Criminal Defacement - A police officer discovered graffiti on the concrete floor of the Indian Hill pedestrian tunnel. This may have occurred sometime between Feb. 1 and March 20. The public works department was notified for removal.

March 21

Criminal Defacement - An officer discovered graffiti on both the east and west abutments above the Sunset Road pedestrian underpass. The public works department was notified for removal.

March 22

Criminal Defacement - An officer discovered graffiti on the platform posts and a sign on the east platform at 100 Northwestern Drive. This may have occurred sometime between Feb. 1 and March 22. Union Pacific Railroad was notified for removal.

An officer discovered graffiti on the west cement stairway of the Elm Street Train Station. This may have occurred sometime during the previous day. Union Pacific Railroad was notified for removal. 

Theft - A student discovered his wallet was removed from an unsecured locker located in the boy’s locker room of New Trier High School's Winnetka Campus. This may have occurred sometime on March 19.
