Winnetka Blotter: Designer Bag Thief, Stolen Antiques

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

 

Burglary

A victim reported that an unknown offender removed headphones and a phone charging cord from her vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Ash Street at 10:01 p.m. June 28.  It is unknown if the vehicle was locked and the loss is estimated at $250.00.

Criminal Damage

An officer discovered the northeast pedestrian tunnel wall was defaced with red paint sometime between 9:41 p.m. June 19 and 7:50 a.m. June 29 in the 100 block of Green Bay Road.  Public works was notified and the repair costs are estimated at $100.

A victim discovered an unknown offender damaged several fence panels in the 500 block of Meadow Road sometime between 6:00 a.m. June 27 and 5:33 a.m. June 30. Repairs are estimated at $275.00. 

Theft

A victim reported several antiques were stolen from a store in the 800 block of Green Bay Road at 1:49 p.m on June 25.  The subject reportedly left the store without paying for the items, which were valued at $7082.

A victim reported that an unknown offender stole her unlocked bicycle from a bike rack in the 800 block of Green Bay Road sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1:11 p.m. on June 27.  The bicycle is described as a purple Trek 3700 boy’s 21-speed mountain bike valued at $200. 

A victim reported that an unknown offender stole her locked bicycle from a bike rack in the 800 block of Green Bay Road sometime between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on June 27.  The cable lock was cut and the bicycle is described as a white Giant Boulder SE-2 girl’s model.  The loss is estimated at $342.

A victim reported an unattended purse was stolen from the Tennis Shack in the 500 block of Hibbard Road between 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. on June 27.  The purse is described as a tan Prada which contained a brown Coach wallet containing credit cards, a check book, cell phone and Ray Ban sunglasses.  The loss is estimated at $1,300.

Traffic

Suzanne G. Hilbrant, 53, of the 100 block of Westview, Winnetka, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 12:53 a.m. on June 28 in the 900 block of Hill Road.  She also was cited for using a hand held cell phone while driving.  A court date is scheduled for August 1.
