Wind Chill Advisory for Monday Night into Tuesday

Wind chills expected to be 20-25 below zero.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory from 6 p.m. Monday evening to 9 a.m Tuesday for the Chicagoland region.

Wind chill values predicted are 20 below to 25 below through Tuesday morning.

Very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills, according to the National Weather Service.  This leads to a risk for frostbite and hypothermia.  Frostbite to exposed skin can occur in 30 minutes.

The National Weather Service advises to wear a hat and gloves if you must venture outdoors.

Claudia, is there any way that the Patch can post the wind-chill temperature as well as the ambient temperature? That would be very helpful as we venture out into the elements! Thanks.
