A local restaurant is offering a coupon for diners looking to enjoy French cuisine and save at the same time.

A Groupon worth $60 in food and drinks at Restaurant Michael can be purchased for $30 here. A limited number of Groupons is available for sale, according to the website. As of publication, the minimum number purchases of Groupons for the deal to be valid had not been reached -- about 260 have been purchased and a minimum of 500 is required.

Restaurant Michael is the creation of Chef Michael Lachowicz (read our Q&A with the chef here on reaching the fifth anniversary of the restaurant). In his career, Lachowicz  has worked at Le Francais in Wheeling, Allouette in Highwood and Les Deux Gros in Glen Ellyn, a restaurant he opened with his brother.

The Groupon is valid for one year and is not redeemable on Valentine's Day, Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve. Buyers can purchase up to three Groupons but may only use one per visit.
