My favorite toy store is The Village Toy Shop at 807 Elm Street in Winnetka. For over 60 years, Village Toy employees have been helping parents and grandparents select the perfect, age appropriate gifts for holidays and children's birthdays. The current owner selects new toys and games while still carrying traditional toy store favorites such as Stieff stuffed animals, Madame Alexander and Carolle dolls, wooden art easels, blocks, Legos and Thomas the Train. Looking for a Woopi Cushion, pick up sticks or a pull back race car? Village Toy has it! They even have a wide selection of board games, unusual for an independent toy store.
Service is the specialty of The Village Toy Shop. Phone questions and orders are gladly taken care of and they will even pull a selection of items in a certain price range for me to choose from when I come dashing in for a birthday party gift! Free gift wrapping, enclosure card and a package topper are offered for every purchase. They have made up wonderful party bags for my children's birthday parties and now seasonal goody bags for my grandchildren.
I have been shopping at The Village Toy Shop for over 30 years because they can always help me find something that children will love!
