This week's Readers' Choice poll for best preschool was one of our most popular polls, with nearly 1,000 votes cast. The winner, with 253 votes, was St. Joseph School, 1740 Lake Ave., in Wilmette.

"We are new to the St. Joe's community this year, and absolutely love it!" wrote Pam Evens in its business listing. "The involvement of the school, parents, and church are tremendous. Along with a great education (my kindergartener is talking about US presidents), being kind, nice children is the main goal, and that's what you see throughout. A great experience for all."

In the comments section of the poll, several people shared their appreciation for nearby preschools, with a total of 19 comments.
