More to the Story? Glencoe Park District Resignation

Discussions about starting to charge Donald Van Arsdale rent in his previously rent-free Glencoe home were on the table amid resignation, 'Glencoe Trib Local' reports.

The potential reasons for former Glencoe Park District Executive Director Donald Van Arsdale's sudden resignation could relate to park district board members questioning his living rent-free in a Glencoe home, according to Glencoe Trib Local

Park Board Commissioner Trent Cornell reportedly had been checking into the practice of not charging rent to executive directors of the park district citing IRS concerns, according to the article. Discussions were on the table to begin charging Van Arsdale rent.

The practice reportedly dates back to 1965.

During the discussions, Van Arsdale abruptly resigned from his post. He submitted his resignation letter on June 27, which was effective immediately.

At a special meeting held on June 28, Steve Nagle was appointed interim executive director until a replacement for Van Arsdale is found
