Dold Takes Staff for Outing in the Woods

Congressman, staff and interns clear trails in Libertyville forest preserve.

Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) took his staff and interns for a day in the woods July 28 and the Congressman did not plan it to be a picnic.

The staffers, interns and Congressman entered Wilmot Woods in Libertyville with saws and clippers to clear trails in the forest preserve. Dold is no stranger to this kind of environment.

“As an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster, I believe that it is important to give back to the communities in which we live,” Dold said. “I am proud of the Northbrook office for volunteering to clean up our local trails so that area residents can enjoy the natural beauty that we are surrounded by.”

Dold is running for reelection against Democrat Brad Schneider of Deerfield. A few weeks ago Schneider’s interns were taking some extra time to make videos to help communicate what they are doing in the campaign.

Pay overtime for your technicians at Rose Pest Solutions...don't wait for a judge to tell you, Democrats might think you are a crook when in fact you are just a businessman who calculates that by not paying overtime, your profit is higher. Trust me, pay the due overtime, don't be cheap, don't be a crook

McGinty I see is ok with you for employees not to be paid any overtime. Is ok with me too, those employees are just Dold's serfs and should be happy they are being paid at all. I am just worried Democrats might find out Dold's schemes and ask him questions about it. I am not worried about Il. Dept. Of Labor as their investigation won't be completed before Nov 02 and after the election...let them eat cake :), right? GO DOLD GO!

dold's non-supporter: Maybe you are right and maybe you are wrong. Rather than these anonymous innuendos, why don't you take your case to the Department of Labor? The DOL doesn't put up with non-payment of overtime so I suspect there is more to the story than what you allege.

My, his staff looks like a young and lively bunch. If those who are pictured are his total staff or representative of his staff I bet they are really getting the senior vote. Please tell me he has at least one person over fifty on his staff.

Well, when the unemployment rate for recent college graduates is about 50%, you have idiots like these working for Dold, looking for any angle to advance themselves, irrespective of how detrimental their candidate might be for the greater common good.

This is news?
It says $500 fine for removing any growing thing on FP property. That might be news.
How about a nice pitcure of the needles, condoms and other things from the FP's that need cleaned up.

Obviously everyone here that has commented, except for McGinty (maybe), are obviously against Rep. Dold. As for Janey's comment, The Friends of the Forest Preserves do this all the time and are not breaking the law. Janey, why don't you look up the actual law that the signs refer to before making that uninformed comment. Here's a hint, invasive species removal (such as Buckthorn) and clean up efforts are not against the law. Dold Supporter, why don't you try and at least comment on the article rather than your obvious disdain for this man. Show your disdain at the ballot box rather than wasting everyone's time trying to sound intelligent and knowledgeable about the issues. As for Keith's comment, I am happy to see younger people at least taking an interest in politics and cleaning up the woods while they are at it. I'll be happy when this election is over so these comments from trolls will stop.

Paul knows his invasive species.
The point is, if a poltician falls a tree in the woods and nobody takes a picture, does it make a noise?
Trolls viote too, they just dont care who knows or not, Paul. You're special. All the connected are special.
Leave a scrap for the rest of us.

We’re not quite at that http://www.coachfactoryoutletonlinebc.org stage yet. But we may be on the right path.
