Winnetka’s Grand Food Center to Feature ‘Fire Sale’ Saturday

Shoppers at The Grand Food Center in Winnetka this Saturday are in for an unexpected treat: a fire sale.

Literally.

The grocer’s longtime firewood vendor, Snugglewood, will demonstrate its new, 3-4-hour burning log, “Timber Tote,” in the store parking lot.  The Winnetka Fire Department has agreed to the mini-demonstration in an approved fire pit outside from 11 am- 2 pm.

The product’s secret is in its fire starter stick, which is inserted in the log’s hole.  The stick takes two minutes to fully ignite, allowing the log to burn up to four hours.

“This is the easiest fire that you can start,” says Snugglewood’s Larry Wiltgen, the sole distributor of Timber Tote.  The wood is Northern Red Pine, and is assembled in South Antigo, Wis.  The product is designed to be burned only in a fire ring or fire pit.

The Timber Tote will be sold inside the store for the discounted price of $16.99 through Saturday.

For information, visit Timber Tote on Facebook.
