North Shore Senior Center’s Crochet-In: Drop In, Join Us and Share the Warmth

  • Organization: North Shore Senior Center
  • Causes: Seniors
  • Date(s): May 20

Step out this spring and join a group of volunteers that really appreciate the value of a good yarn! North Shore Senior Center will host its first-ever “Crochet-In” on Friday, May 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at its Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Campus, 161 Northfield Road, in Northfield. This gathering is a meet-and-greet for current, new and potential volunteers for the Center’s Share the Warmth Project, which benefits people who are undergoing chemotherapy.

Share the Warmth Project volunteers crochet decorative borders for handmade fleece blankets that are given as gifts to local hospitals and cancer treatment centers. (All materials are provided.) If you don’t know how to crochet, the volunteers will teach you! The “Crochet-In” is open to all interested individuals and service-oriented groups. Refreshments will be served. To learn more, contact Maura Rogan, Director of Volunteer Services, at 847.784.6052 or mrogan@nssc.org.
