Glencoe Park District Welcomes New Director of Operations
The Glencoe Park District recently welcomed Steve Nagle as the new Director of Operations, a position that administers facilities operations, capital improvements and grants. With a comprehensive professional background and positive energy, he is a great addition to the Park District family.
Steve comes to Glencoe with several years of experience in the field of parks and recreation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in recreation, parks and tourism administration from Western Illinois University and earned a master’s degree in parks and recreation administration from the University of Illinois. His work experience is extensive, including management of both recreation programs and facilities at the Rosemont, Wauconda, Bensenville and Waukegan Park Districts. He was most recently the associate director of recreation and wellness for the Jewish Community Center of Chicago, responsible for aquatics and fitness at facilities from Homewood-Flossmoor to Lake Zurich.
In addition to his broad work experience, Steve is an active professional in the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA). He has been a leader of the IPRA Recreation Section, having spent six years as treasurer and the current year as section director. Steve also holds a certification in sports conditioning from the International Sports Sciences Association.
“I’m looking forward to meeting and working with the residents of Glencoe,” Steve says. “It will be great to get to know the community by attending events and programs.” In his first few weeks in the position, Steve has developed some initial goals for the district, such as maximizing usage at the Takiff Center, participating in facility upgrade projects, and showcasing Glencoe’s unique facilities through various marketing efforts.
